In 2020, a transformative chapter unfolded as the new owners, Charlotte and Søren, took the helm, embarking on a meticulous restoration journey. Their vision was to unearth the essence of Taarbæk Kro, transcending mere renovation to explore the inn's soul—a narrative shaped by centuries of existence.
Given the task of creating a corporate identity for the inn, we were specifically instructed to veer away from the corporate realm, avoiding the formation of a rigid identity, and maintaining a design approach that was not overly stylized.
Much like the restoration process, we approached the assignment as archaeologists, delicately peeling back layers to uncover the inn's authentic character. Delving into city archives, rare books, and private photo collections, we meticulously curated an eclectic, maritime, locally centered, and slightly eccentric visual tapestry.
The result is a sensory experience, departing from traditional corporate identity norms, seamlessly blending the inn's historical roots with a contemporary twist. Taarbæk Kro not only underwent a physical transformation but emerged as a vibrant, timeless entity, harmonizing past and present.
